As portfolio manager of the Blue Ocean fund at Swen Capital Partners, Olivier Raybaud embodies impact-driven finance. This Paris-based asset management firm, with over €9 billion in assets under management, shares a common mission to place nature at the heart of its strategies.

Among its investment vehicles, the Blue Ocean Fund, dedicated to the regeneration of marine biodiversity, stands out. Following an initial €170 million fund invested in 20 innovative startups, Blue Ocean 2.0 takes the reins with a target of €300 million. The strategy remains unchanged: supporting concrete, technology-driven solutions to restore ocean ecosystems.

Impact is the cornerstone of every investment. Every selection process begins with a single question: “Will the innovation have a positive impact on the regeneration of ocean biodiversity?” If so, impact theses, validated by an independent committee, are established. Each startup is then assigned impact KPIs, the achievement of which determines a portion of the compensation.

By publishing a detailed impact report each year, Swen Capital Partners demonstrates that finance, innovation, and biodiversity can move forward hand in hand.
