Utmost Luxembourg announces the appointment of Nicoletta Basso as Branch Manager of its Italian branch. This strategic decision underscores Italy’s growing importance in the group’s European expansion strategy.

Recognized expertise in cross-border wealth structuring

Nicoletta Basso has been with Utmost for over six years, where she previously served as a tax and legal advisor for the Italian market. In this role, she supported the sales teams and partners in analyzing and implementing unit-linked insurance solutions, used as tools for wealth structuring and estate planning for HNW and UHNW clients.

She brings over fifteen years of experience in financial services, with a specialization in multi-jurisdictional issues. Notably, she worked in the compliance department of a MiFID-regulated investment manager based in Dublin, developing in-depth expertise in European regulatory frameworks.

Italy, a pillar of the growth strategy

This appointment comes at a time when Italy is identified as a priority market in Utmost’s growth strategy. The acceleration of intergenerational wealth transfers and the search for structured wealth management solutions are enhancing the attractiveness of this market for players specializing in international life insurance.

Nicoletta Basso states:

“I am honored to take the helm of the Italian branch at a key stage in Utmost’s development. The Italian market is characterized by a high level of wealth sophistication and growing demand for long-term planning solutions. My goal is to continue local development while ensuring personalized support and a level of service excellence.”

A strong signal to the market

With over €133 billion in assets under administration by the end of 2025, Utmost continues to expand its European footprint by leveraging enhanced local expertise and a robust cross-border architecture.

Nicoletta Basso’s appointment underscores the group’s commitment to consolidating its position in Italy and providing long-term support to families and partners facing the complex challenges of wealth structuring and succession planning.
